he United States of America towards equality for all of its citizens. Mississippi as well as other southern states experienced the "pains of changing." Some of the changes affected positive changes for women rights in the work place, improved opportunities for Blacks, and voter rights issues. I do not have the space to name all of them. However, the various changes were instrumental in shaping the United States into the country it is today. My family was personally affected by the changes that were personified in our daughter, Debra. She was the catalyst through whom Leake County school system began to experience change for a better equality towards its Black citizens. Minnie J.
