Everything in life has a proper foundation, one that will support the superstructure. This is especially true of Jesus and the Church, Paul insisting in 1 Cor.3:11 that "no one can lay any other foundation but the one already laid: which is Jesus Christ." The intellectual, the Socialist, the false teachers, all seek to find a different way, a better way, but there is none, for Jesus Himself said, "I will build My Church, against which the gates of hell shall not prevail" Matt. 16:18].
The need for a right Foundation is also true of our Nation, whose existence rests securely on the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S. Constitution. The history of our Nation shows that God Himself was active in laying our Foundation; the present crisis reveals our need for His involvement again. These are mere words - until preachers and politicians make them come alive again by word and practice. And the results shall be glorious.
