"One morning, bundled up against the cold, I sat in my prayer chair reading the Gospels. As I read the little bit that is told about Mary Magdalene I said, "Father, we know so little about Mary. Would you tell me her story?" Immediately, it was like a movie was playing before my eyes. The story was so vivid I thought to run to my computer to write it down. I sat and typed for an hour before I realized I was freezing. I threw on some clothes, called my office and told them I wouldn't be in to work and I typed as words pour forth. I typed words I didn't know, I dovetailed Scripture in ways I couldn't imagine. When I finished I had the complete story of Mary Magdalene and the first "missionary.". This is a painful, wonderful story of God's redemptive love. Other than correcting spelling, I added or deleted nothing to this story. I now understand the workings of the Holy Spirit as never before. I didn't write this book, I typed it! I feel so humbled that I get to put my name on the title page.
