r Scott Hunter's door late at night. It turns out to be a plea from an unknown person wanting to meet him late the following night. With much trepidation, he meets the person in a darkened building in Santa Fe's Railyard District. Scott is faced with a beautiful, terrified, woman who convinces him that her life is in danger. Before she can give details, their conversation is cut short by a loud noise in the building. She hands Scott a frightening note she has received, asks him to meet again the following night, and rushes out. The next night, Scott enters the pitch-dark restaurant where no one responds to his calling out. He is shocked when he stumbles over a dead body in the restaurant kitchen. As he works on the case, Scott uncovers greed, jealousy, lust, and even lunacy as motivations for this homicide. The most unlikely suspects emerge, including some of the Santa Fe's well-known business leaders and exemplary chefs.
