A wave of bloodshed has crashed upon Texas cattle country. A demented cleric, known only as "The Angel," is leaving bizarre knick-knacks on his victims as calling cards.

For lawman Holt Corrigan, the murders have hit hard. First, the judge who pardoned Holt's Confederate past is found brutally murdered. Then, a neighbor falls victim. Now, a member of the Corrigan family has become the latest target.

Trading his sheriff's badge for that of a Texas Ranger, Holt embarks on a vengeful hunt for the prolific killer. Joining him is Orion Higbee, an imposing veteran Ranger with a past of his own. Can they survive the harsh land, outlaws, Comanches, vigilantes, as well as The Angel himself?
