After being banished by the Shoshoni family that adopted him, mountain man Hawley Cooper finds himself adrift in a land of loss, bloodshed, and death. Feeling that dark spirits are taking over his mind, he leaves his wife and their new son in their Nez Perce village and sets out on a lonely quest to find the birthplace of his demons-and defeat them before they consume him entirely.
