A collection of words placed in a precise and unpredictable arrangement, She Remains says what doesn't want to be heard outside of its original thought, in the rhythm of an unsteady heart.
These poems express themselves equally through words and form to explore the unpredictable waves of emotion; emotion that likely would have rather been ignored. Soaked with winter's rain and cloaked beneath the moon's sky, this collection is a search for what remains under the surface of it all; a search for answers beneath the self that lead only to more questions.
In She Remains by Amika Caruso we experience the hesitancy of observing someone's most personal thoughts, as though we are reading her diary. Slightly uneasy, we are drawn in deeper by our own, possibly reluctant, connection to such raw and beating thoughts.
