When five-year-old Steven Heard's father dies on Christmas morning, his struggle with those who hate him accelerates. Despite having unique connections to the heavens, larger-than-life talent, and intermittent memories of his time before birth, Steven feels the diametrically opposed demands of both love and fear as he endures seasons of desperation and repeatedly asks, "Why?"
