I came up with the title Perception, Deception, and Imperfection after I had written all the poems for this book. I wanted to find a way to portray how our perception of ourselves, others, and the world around us defines the way we live. So many of us focus on our own failures or the imperfections of others because we do not know where else to turn. We often struggle to look past shortcomings because we do not believe that forgiveness and healing is real. True contentment and peace can only be found when we trust that condemnation is gone and that we have a Savior who really did take away all our sins, even the ones we've hidden for what feels like forever.
