God gave me this poem during hurricane Katrina. My church opened the Baptist Missionary Association campgrounds in our county to house over five hundred refugees from South Louisiana. I literally left latrine cleaning duty in one of the cabins and went to the kitchen to write these verses down as God spoke them to me. I am forever grateful for His Spirit sharing this with me.
It is the story in verse of Noah, the very first "evacuee" and his family's journey in the ark. Think of how astonished Mrs. Noah must have been when Noah first revealed God's plans for their lives. It also highlights how inadequate Noah must have felt and some funny ideas he may have had. Of course, it ends with everyone safe and the famous rainbow scene.
