In church we often honor the work of the pastor and the pastor's spouse. But how often do we consider the children who are innocently along for the ride? In Beauty Ascending, the author weaves life stories of her personal journey as a pastor's daughter and shares the life lessons she learned along the way in hopes of honoring and encouraging other pastors' kids while shedding light on an often overlooked role in the pastor's ministry-their children. Giving voice to the challenges while inspiring hope for the journey, Beauty Ascending is a guide to living life "in the fishbowl."
Tysarah is a lifelong pastor's daughter, avid student of the Bible, and perpetual seeker of truth and personal growth. She is currently a committed and passionate member of the healthcare community, in the area of pediatric primary care and behavioral pediatrics. Tysarah is no stranger to the joys and challenges of being the child of a pastor, as her father served as the senior pastor of an inner city church in Baltimore, Maryland for 16 years, and afterwards continuing to serve the community of faith both as an interim pastor and a member of the ministerial staff with other sister congregations in the DMV area. She is a firm believer in encouraging and empowering others to become their best selves, while making room for them to grow and blossom into the people God has created them to be. As a member of the inaugural cohort of the Own Your Story movement, led by Natalie Mangrum, Tysarah is convinced that now is the time to share her story and the lessons she has learned along her unique journey of growth and enlightenment as a pastor's daughter. Born in Philadelphia, PA, but raised in Baltimore, Tysarah currently resides in Maryland.
