Alex the Brave lived most of her life without a home or family. This tale, as told by Alex, is the story of how Alex used her courage to find a loving home. Alex the Brave is based on the very real friendship of the author's pets, Alex and Charlie, whose friendship has not only defied the rocky relationship between cats and dogs but has also warmed the lives of the family who was able to witness it.

About the Author

Author Laura Anne Hardin was raised in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Alex the Brave Meets a Big, Brown, Furry Dog! was inspired by the relationship between her parent's labradoodle named Charlie and her adopted cat named Alex who she found on the front porch of her grandmother's house in Siloam Springs. Hardin lives with her cat Alex and her husband Caleb in a small apartment in Rogers, where she writes stories about Alex's life. She graduated in 2019 from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in social work.
