5Lessons Learned: Recommendations for Future Behavior Based on Past Rewards by Jack Burke, DVM Life is an adventure, and no one knows this better than Jack Burke! From growing up trading baseball cards and playing stickball in the Bronx in the fifties to boozy fraternity blowouts in the sixties and acid-trip revelations in the seventies to successful concurrent careers as a veterinary practitioner, real estate investor, and educator, he has seen and done it all. Here he reflects on past experiences, what he learned, and how he escaped outrageous situations (mostly) unscathed! Lessons Learned: Recommendations for Future Behavior Based on Past Rewards by Jack Burke, DVM is an engrossing collection of life recommendations from the author delivered through a narrative of humorous anecdotes, noteworthy times, and engaging stories. Motivated to write his memoir by his grandson's queries, Jack takes readers on a journey through the decades, allowing them to share his memories and recall their own. Jack Burke is a Cornell graduate, earning his DVM in 1967. He is passionate about architecture and design and has had an illustrious career flipping residential and business properties in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. In fact, his self-designed St. Augustine home was featured on the cover of Jacksonville Magazine and was designated "Home of the Year 2012" by Florida's Home Magazine. Jack retired from academia after a successful twenty-nine-year career, being granted the honor of professor emeritus. His most prized parting tribute was a laminated plaque, "Your Humor Will Sorely Be Missed."
