Second time author Geniene Dotson Gary is a wife, mother, and grandmother. As of April 30, 2021, she retired from the Los Angeles County Probation Department after over thirty years of service. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of La Verne while struggling to raise four children on her own. She remarried in 2000.
