description
8Through an impactful collection of prayers, the author explores the epistles of Paul through the lens of profound communication with God. Filled with spiritual insight, foundational wisdom, and hope found within the love of Christ, Prayers Based on the Epistles of Paul: Romans through Philemon encourages believers to grow in their walk with the Lord through the power of prayer. At the beginning of the book, the author includes an informative introduction that clearly relays to the reader the content, context, and message of the book, as well as the benefit the reader will gain from reading the book. This introduction is powerful and inspiring, sharing an illustrative account of the author's background and purpose of writing. Throughout the collection, the author shares a wonderful variety of prayers, thoroughly helping the reader grow in his or her prayer life by encouraging thoughtful communication with God. The author also provides the reader with opportunities for in-depth spiritual growth through the different aspects of biblical wisdom within the various prayers. The author has included effective questions for reflection and meditation that provoke deep thought within the heart and mind of the reader. These questions take the prayers to the next level and reveal to the reader the importance of self-reflection, as well as the value of taking time for prayerful meditation in one's spiritual life. D. D. Lewis was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a commercial pilot, D. D. Lewis was able to travel extensively. He also had opportunities to go on short-term mission trips to Africa and India. D. D. Lewis had the privilege to minister in the Allegheny County Jail for over 20 years. D. D. Lewis served as a volunteer chaplain, giving one-on-one counseling to inmates, and led a Bible study every Tuesday evening. The challenges of jail ministry taught him to speak boldly into people's lives. There D. D. Lewis learned how to pray, trust, and rejoice in God's provisions. Teaching and counseling in the jail also prepared him to be a pastor at Providence Church in Pittsburgh, where he currently serves. You can contact D. D. Lewis at praythroughthebible.com.
