2In 2021, Kathy was staying home due to the COVID shut down and spent hours in her backyard garden. It was the first year she had planted an abundance of Milkweed, a plant that attracts butterflies. Sometimes more than twenty Monarch butterflies would flutter about, and Kathy noticed caterpillars in various sizes eating the milkweed. One day she counted over fifty caterpillars and that was the beginning of her butterfly addiction. Each day she kept her eye on them. She knew when they moved about and where the newest chrysalis could be found. This fascination led to research the cycle of the Monarch as she began to document each phase. This is an educational book told in a way where two unusual critters become friends. A bird and a caterpillar. The bird no longer wants to eat the fat worm after hearing the caterpillar's story. This cute little book, "I Want to Eat You" shares the complexity of a butterfly's transformation. Life isn't always as it seems. The hungry bird discovered it's important to help someone else and gain a friend. Kathy Coleman is the author of two non-fiction books. Moving On: Former Flight Attendant Flies for God, The New Normal, For Better or Worse and a children's illustrated book; Mrs. Wise Owl Teaches Color. Kathy has painted children's murals in nursing homes, churches, a pediatric unit, private homes and buildings. She is a retired flight attendant and realtor. She is the mother of two adult daughters and wife of Joseph Miller.
