1It was September of 2003 when Dean Russell went to the gym one day, collapsed, and was without a heartbeat for eleven minutes before being revived. This initial heart failure soon turned into advanced heart failure, and for seventeen years, God kept Dean's heart beating despite the weakening his cardiologists observed. Five years before Dean's passing on Christmas day of 2020, he asked Cathy, his wife, to help him write a book regarding his battle with cardiovascular complications, and thus began this Journey of Miracles. During this time of distress, Dean's faith grew to unmeasured lengths, and he knew he needed to call upon the Lord for strength and guidance during this period of unpredictability for joy, love, and hope. And despite the circumstances, Cathy's love for her husband gave her the courage and strength to never leave his side and do everything within her power to help him get through this Hell on earth. Throughout Dean's incredible life, he constantly remained faithful, strong, joyful, and loving toward his family and Christ. He always knew God was in control. And while this is a book about faith, love, and hope, it's also about eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real. God is real. No one ever knows the day or the hour of their death, so we must all be ready for that day when God finally calls us home for our eternal life. All glory to God always.
