1"Geny Heywood's Greatest Love Story", is based on the dynamics the author witnessed as a girl during WWII. Unfolding the narrative as being her very own life story, she brings wartime occupation to life. Early in the war, she meets a romantic athletic Northerner who strikes her emotions. The two lovers plan an eventual meeting in the US where they will start a new life together if they survive. Her journey to the rendezvous demonstrates the hope and endurance for love. Geny Heywood grew up during WWII having two German soldiers surviving in her house until June 6th 1944 when the Allies landed in Normandy north of Vendée where she lived. Although she had been asked by the occupying soldiers not to fear their presence, she still feels now, in her nineties, the anxiety that had entered every child's soul during those difficult times. Geny says that her heart is AMERICAN, if our dear GI's had not come to her rescue to help the exhausted Allies, where would she be today! She writes most of her books about what she felt as a child during those times. This last novel is based on her later feelings of somehow an improved understanding of life in times of war. She lives close to her children in Navasota Texas where she says that is where she will end her days.
