description
1Expected and unexpected losses are inevitable. Transformational Grief in the Book of Job examines how Job and his friends dealt with grief in the Bible and how the Lord helped lead them to restoration. This study, in turn, can help others learn from Job as well as other biblical figures who suffered. I hope readers will grow in knowledge and understanding of grief and realize how they can be transformed through the help of the Lord and others. Loretta Baker graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Theology and a Doctor of Ministry in Black Church Leadership from the School of Evangelism. She is an Ordained Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, an ACPE Spiritual Care Professional, and a certified grief care specialist. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. Rev. Dr. Baker is an Associate Minister at Taylortown A.M.E. Zion Church where Presiding Elder Erich Von Shumake is the pastor. She is a Supernumerary Minister in the Kentucky Annual Conference of the A.M.E. Zion Church where she serves as a Christian educator. She integrates biblical knowledge with her understanding of grief to teach about grief and equip grief caregivers.
