r has written poetry and brief devotionals to bring encouragement and hope to the reader. Everyone goes through difficulties, physical struggles, and sorrows, but in the midst of her storms, Marilyn has maintained vision and confidence of a clear horizon. It is her hope that this book will be a life raft for each person, and a steppingstone in their walk of faith. God is present in our storms! He has been my anchor through life's sorrows and afflictions. God is who He says He is, and does what He declares He will do! In 2002 I had pneumonia, and a virus went into the T6 of my spine. As the virus feasted, the damage caused me to collapse. It was then I began to deal with the effects of transverse myelitis. After a month of physical therapy, I learned to walk again. I walked using two canes for stability, and then cancer came. The Lord brought me through a mastectomy, chemo, and radiation, surrounded by precious family and friends. The day came, as I was trying to get into our home, I could not raise my foot up onto the threshold. I tried and tried, but I could not. My loving husband immediately placed ramps at the entrances of our home, so I could shuffle my feet with success. Later, a battery-operated chair became essential! My body began having new symptoms of difficulty. It was concluded that since my oxygen level was 51 while I slept and 78 while I sat in my chair, I was in respiratory failure. I was placed on 8 liters of oxygen at night and 2 liters during the day. The time came when I spent most of my existence on my bed. The greatest difficulty of each day was trying to get out of bed. My awesome Lord Jesus began bursting poetry through me during this season of my life. Today, by His miraculous Hand, I no longer need prescribed oxygen, and I can walk short distances with a walker. God, who has been with me in the journey, is raising me up! I refuse to call impossible that which God calls possible!
