acy with God and others. They flow from the author's experiences in prayer and loving, recounting universal struggles of the human heart. To enhance their meanings, the poems are interspersed with Sacred Scripture, and other spiritual writings. To quote a song from the Sound of Music, she added a "few of her favorite things." It is a book of spiritual meditation rather than poetry, per se. Composed over a period of sixty-seven years, the writings vary from traditional rhyming poems to free verse, from psalm prayers to just playing with words. It is a book in which you may find an echo of your own experience or some words that will speak to your heart or soul. Bernice Dumitru lives in Pittsburgh, Pa with her cat Magellan. She was a Religious Sister for 27 years, married for 32 years and now a widow since May of 2019. She has a large extended family and a stepfamily of two daughters and three grandchildren. Retired from the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese, she has taught school, served as Director of Religious Education, given retreats and served as a hospital chaplain. Her mission is to spread the good news of God's love and to be a friend. That's what prompted her to compile this book of her own experiences, knowing God invites all to grow in intimacy with him and each other. Besides praying, loving and writing poetry, she interacts with large families in her neighborhood assisting with homeschooling or just being a friend. You can find her writings on Catholic365.com, an online magazine.
