Daniel McGuane is from West Virginia, where he experienced a challenging childhood in a dysfunctional home. Despite being born premature and weighing only two pounds, he survived against all odds after doctors had given him a slim chance of living. Due to complications in his mother's womb, Daniel developed ADD and learning disabilities, and he lost the hearing in his left ear. During his teenage years, Daniel experienced depression, anxiety, and panic disorders, and he struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction. Despite this, started attending church, where he felt safe and welcomed. It was there that he had a transformative experience with God.
