Twenty-seven-year-old Derrek Snowe works for Frostbyte Incorporated, a New York City-based philanthropic company. Founded by his adoptive father, William Shale, years ago with a mission of achieving immortality for all of humanity at a reasonable price, the CEO and his staff unfortunately have made little progress toward fulfilling his lofty goal.
After a wager placed on a spontaneous game of chess with Shale forces Derrek to embark on a company excursion to Germany, he is met on the hotel shuttle by his weapons trainer, Major Jeffrey Reynolds. Despite being plagued by strange nightmares, Derrek quickly immerses himself in his dangerous field work. Armed with a sidearm and fierce determination to fight for his life, Derrek soon discovers a power within him he never knew existed. As he is guided to his calling by an immortal warrior destined to kill him, Derrek's life comes full circle when, once again, the outcome from a game of chess determines his path forward.
