2This is a story of one woman's struggle to believe in herself, overcome adversity, and learn to believe that God, is after all, a God of Love. It was a long struggle. She grew up with a mentally ill father, faced hardships from the Great Depression, experienced great loss with the death of her baby sister, and struggled with a poor self esteem. To make it worse, she attended church where she heard frightening sermons of hellfire and damnation and wondered if God really loved her. It would be a small book that would eventually bring a healthier perspective.
In her adult life, she struggled to please everyone. She worked hard in church, enduring a bossy pastor. She tried to please her husband and felt a sense of failure. To please him, she said yes to a time of homesteading in the Alaskan wilderness (where Foxglove and Rose Hips grow). Her story is about being human and learning to accept herself.
