5Bethany fisher and Jacob Miller have been together for some time, but they are getting to the point that they are feeling burned out. There is a break in their work overseas and now they are going to have time to go back home and reunite with their loved ones. They are so tickled pink that they don't even consider that something could go wrong. They are so full of anticipation that they take the first opportunity that comes along to vacate their positions. It's not forever and they will be needed again either here in Haiti or someplace else. They want to help rebuild communities that have been devastated by natural disasters, but what they don't know is that natural disasters can bring out the worst in people. They're on the way back to the airport holding hands and really basking in the love that they share for each other, when a group of rebels stops them before they can reach the airplane that will take them back to their home. They are forced by gunpoint and are taken hostage for ransom, even though they have not a nickel between them and they know that their families would never be able to pay. They see pain in the eyes of several of their hostage takers and find themselves working towards helping them pave a different way for their future.
