"The Adventures of Pook and Boogee: The Boys Meet Mr. Jones" is a story of two boys-one a precocious inventor and the other his lovable brother--who go back in time to meet the African American inventor Frederick McKinley Jones. Mr. Jones is best known for his portable refrigeration system; in fact, this system was used during World War II to transport blood for transfusion, medicine for the sick, and food for the soldiers. Although prolific, Mr. Jones did not receive credit for all of his scientific efforts. The Adventures of Pook and Boogee tells the story of Mr. Jones and his incredible advancements as he teaches the boys important life lessons in the process.
