Following a mysterious accident, Phineas wakes to find two soft blue eyes watching him from the dark. He is terrified to find that the eyes belong to his shadow, which is no longer behaving as a proper shadow should. The shadow steals his voice, and Phineas believes it is trying to kill him.

With the help of his family and friends, Phineas must overcome his fear, uncover why his shadow, Raven, is tormenting him, and figure out what happened to his parents. Along the way, he discovers a forgotten family secret lost for more than 40 years.

PHINEAS BLEAK AND THE SHADOWS OF ELKMONT is set in the early 1960s in the cozy Smoky Mountain resort community of Elkmont. The adventure takes place at the grand Wonderland Hotel during the annual Firefly Festival. The story draws from mountain history, Appalachian culture, and Native American lore to immerse the reader in the magical world of this unique setting.
