In the rolling fields of rural Minnesota lies a sanctuary where unwanted foxes find refuge. Founded in 2017 by fox expert Mikayla Raines, Save a Fox is the largest fox rescue in the U.S., specializing in giving fur farm foxes and pet surrenders a second chance. The animals at the rescue balance on the border between wild and domesticated--they cannot survive in the wild, yet they are not as tame as pets, creating unique challenges for their species and their caregivers. Through striking photos and insights from fox caregivers and volunteers, Saving Foxes: Portraits of Rescued Foxes and Their Stories tells the emotional stories of 27 foxes who have come through the rescue's doors on their way to their forever homes.
