Kamilah is nervous when her mother tells her that she is going to spend the summer away from her and with her grandmother. When her grandmother notices how sad she is, she decides to bring her into the wonderful world of reading. Through learning how to read and spending time with her grandmother, Kamilah learns that spending time away from her mother isn't as scary as she thought.
