A dragon attacks the North Country farmlands. Princess Una arrives in Troynouvaux to seek help from Gloriana, the Faerie Queene. She orders newly-knighted Redcrosse to take up the quest to defeat this ancient foe amid the storms and perils of avarice and falsehoods at play in court political intrigues. This folktale is based in part on the lay of The Redcrosse Knight, from Canto I of the first book of The Faerie Queene, by Edmund Spenser. However, this story does not embrace the symbolism or political views of the original and is a work of fiction derived from the St. George legend in its various forms and sources.
