udent at the warrior academy in China's oldest mantis village, along with his two best friends Xiaoxiao and Pangpang. Soon however, his sense of adventure and thirst for knowledge lead him to the most taboo of subjects, humans. After he instigates a dangerous incident involving humans, the village elders begin questioning his character and doubting his loyalty. Left with little choice, Liang leaves his home and ventures out to the human world where he meets and befriends a martial arts master, and quickly becomes his student.

After years of tutelage under his human master, Liang gains skills he never imagined possible and becomes a uniquely gifted warrior. But when presented with a choice will he decide to go back to the village that shunned him, to defend his home from the vicious Medog Bloodsuckers? Or will he need to let go of the past and go out on his own, blazing a new trail.
