MEET HARRY ROSE
At the beginning of the war, Pilot Officer Harry Rose is a junior RAFVR (Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve) officer in his early twenties, and joins Excalibur Squadron just before the Battle of Britain. Rose is an idealist and keen to give his utmost. At the same time, he's a modest man who's uncomfortable with lavish praise and the accolades of success. During the course of the war, he serves as a night fighter pilot during the Blitz before returning to Excalibur Squadron first as a flight commander and then as Squadron Leader, defending Britain against the Nazis. As well as growing in skill and confidence, he meets and falls in love with Molly, a WAAF (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) officer two ranks his senior.
