A story based on true events which begins and ends in the same area of Stoke Newington.

As the principal protagonist, born just prior to the second world war, I survived The Blitz of London and a traumatic childhood. Married young, I moved with my husband and young family to build a bar and restaurant on the island of Mallorca. Returning to England and after living 20 years in Yorkshire, the remaining years of this memoir play out in South Africa and London.
