Megan had never heard of Rainbow Bridge, but when her brother Max went to live there she knew it must be a very special place, otherwise Mummy and Daddy wouldn't have let him go. When one day Megan journeys there herself, she is reunited with Max and, along with a St Bernard called Jessie, discovers what a magical place it is and learns a very special way to let her much missed family know that she will always love and think of them.
When we lose a beloved pet, the pain is indescribable. The feeling of loss and the hole left, not just in our hearts but in our homes, is hard to bear. For children, however, there is often no explanation good enough as to why their furry friend had to go away; they don't understand and have so many questions of why? where? and how? For parents this can be a very difficult and frustrating time, coping with their own grief at the same time as trying to make sense of it all for a child.
Megan's Journey was written specifically to help children through the loss of their much loved pets, to give them comfort and support as they learn about the beauty and wonder of Rainbow Bridge.
