The United States Parachute Association-a non-profit membership organization run by skydivers, for skydivers-produces the SIM as the foundational textbook and reference manual for all skydivers, from beginner to highly experienced. The SIM provides the organization's Basic Safety Requirements (the commonly accepted safety standards to which USPA members must adhere), and well as more in-depth information about all aspects of the sport.
