Dr. Michael Chung distilled 52 lessons from the life of King David into weekly devotional reading for every Christian Leader and Mentor. Leaders are busy. The responsibilities on their plates are endless. This means time, talent, and energy are limited. Two areas of great necessity for the betterment of the leader are self-reflection and self-awareness, but there is little time to even write in a journal. Sometimes, even during quiet times, there is this slavery to the calendar, which crushes a time to reflect and grow. Even ten minutes can be hard to carve out. This is where help in self-reflection and growth in self-awareness is crucial. Taking a short amount of time each day, five to ten minutes, through the life of David, could be immeasurably helpful in the personal and spiritual growth of the leader.
Leadership is a voyage. The high seas of life possess many dangers that challenge the welfare of the expedition. This book seeks to help leaders improve the destiny of their organizations, navigating the oceans and conquering the sea monsters through the life and wisdom of one of the greatest leaders in history, King David, the second king of Israel.
Because of the truth of the above axiom, Leaders must get better, but they are busy. This book is structured to offer the maximum teaching and spiritual nourishment on the life of David without spending too much capital. Because leadership is destiny, then an improved leader will increase the positive destination of the organization being lead.
Dr. Chung earned his BS in Pre-Med Psychology from Ohio State University. He went on to earn his MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago and his PhD in New Testament at the University of Nottingham, where his thesis was on Paul's Understanding of Spiritual Formation.
