Max is a small dog with a big personality. He loves to sit by the backdoor and watch everything that goes on outside. One fateful morning, a blinding light zooms across the yard, and he sees a strange looking critter. Always an excellent watch-dog, Max jumps into high gear after it, surprised to find a young dragon The sneaky dragon leaps into the wavy air portal, and Max jumps after it. Max and the dragon visit another world with strange creatures. Max is forced to face the super-long snakes, killing trees, and quicksand ahead. His only hope of making it back to his world is the elusive dragon who got him into this mess in the first place.
Lisa Shawver is a former middle school administrator and has been a teacher for over 17 years at the elementary and middle school levels and is currently teaching at-risk high school students. She competed in softball in the 1996 Olympics. Her inspiration for writing children's books comes from her dog Max and her husband. She enjoys sharing real-life adventures of Max on social media and creating new adventures for Max and Runic.
