Years after her schizophrenic mother's suicide, Detroit-based musician Jing Elwood wakes on the asteroid Psyche, where spirit animals feed off "visions" received from Earth. With the help of several such animals, Jing searches for an escape from the harrowing ordeals of the planetoid, all the while struggling with the question of whether or not she has inherited her mother's disorder or if Psyche is reality.
