A youthful dream of becoming a doctor in America carried George Varghese from a village in India to the U.S. and national prominence as a medical specialist, diagnos- tician, educator and visionary. Dr. Varghese was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is Profes- sor Emeritus at University of Kansas Medical Center. He lives with his wife Molly in Kansas City where they raised three children.
