"Of all the things you could have done
You spent your day with me -
Disclosing but the smallest hint
Of vast eternity."
These lines are taken from the last stanza of the last poem in this collection. They best summarize what I feel when I go out with a camera to explore and photograph God's world.
Photography is a passion of mine that has developed over the last several years. Starting with a camera purchased to take pictures of our young daughter as she grew up, the camera has opened my eyes to the world around me. It has taught me how to look more closely - with purpose - at things.
In my free time, I have also enjoyed reading works of the great American poets - Dickinson, Frost, Millay, and others. Their ability to craft a poem in such a way that it immediately feels familiar and draws the reader back to it again and again has fascinated me.
This book is a compilation of thirty-three original photographs and verse inspired by them - often written in the early morning hours over cups of coffee.
