Born in Fanwood. New Jersey; now resides in Gainesville Florida.
Following his own playing days, Gary Keating joined his father on the bench as a basketball coach.
After his Graduation from St. John's University, Gary became an assistant men's college basketball coach, at the age of 23. He would step away his coaching to help his father who has Parkinson's disease.
Later, at the age of 38, Gary himself would be diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson's.
He now has dedicated himself to helping people in a new way. Those who have the same disease, especially other young onset, to believe that life is not over.
Has participated in several research studies to better assess the disease. Find better ways to diagnosed, treat, and maybe lead to that ultimate goal.
As it was during the days of playing and coaching. Every day with Parkinson's it is "Game On". Now adapting additional phrase, "Never Giving Up".
