Mary and Mr. Crow Solve a Problem
Mr. and Mrs. Crow are shocked when no food is in Mary's bird feeder for them. The Sparrows and Grandma Finch also realize their tasty meals of birdseed are not available. And they know what happened!
It's Squirrel taking their food! They view Squirrel as a thief and outsider. He has fur and not feathers. He's rude to take their food. He is not one of them. Mary sets up a meeting for the birds and Squirrel, so they can hear his story and reasons for taking their food.
Squirrel explains his youngsters are hungry. He is the only provider for them and worries when he is away getting food, so he's quick to take food.
Once his story is made plain to them, the birds feel their hearts ache for Squirrel and his difficulties. Mary and Mr. Crow plan a solution to help Squirrel in many ways. Soon they welcome him to be part of their family.
