This is a love story between a young woman and a county sheriff set against the backdrop of an unfolding tragedy in the mountains of northwestern Montana where a raid on a big cat research center is responsible for the escape of seven Siberian Tigers into the wild. The efforts by Geordie Traynor, the sheriff of Flathead County, and Kayla Halcro, the daughter of the owner of the research center, to recapture the tigers are hampered by initial reports that a mountain lion was responsible for the first human fatality. It isn't until a horrific attack by one of the tigers inside a passenger train that the full resources of the Army National Guard are made available to the sheriff. As the story progresses, many lives will be lost among both humans and tigers alike, and it is not clear whether the newfound love between Traynor and Halcro will survive.
