This story quickly captures your attention with its witty rhymes as well as its bright and vivid colors. All the jungle animals always tip toed by the dark cave. They thought the lion inside the cave was mean and crabby. They did not know the real him, nor did they try to get to know him. Not until a kookaburra bird named Mint falls from a tree and lands in front his cave. The bird thought he was going to be the lion's lunch, but to his surprise the lion was friendly! He was a Doctor that took care of him. He was with him as the sun was setting to make sure he was alright. This story communicates a great life lesson to young readers to not judge a book by its cover. Come to find out as they build their relationship, they are both musicians! It is an adventure book that has three different paths you can take to the, "office" which is a huge band room in Mr. Great's (Lion) cave. They even make up a song together. There is so much inside that you do not want to miss!
Book number two, 'Welcome to My Band' invites all of Mr. Great's friends to jam in his band room. Mr.Great invites Mint to join the band because he gave a helping hand to his buddy Stu the turtle. Stu broke his horn and Mint offered his instrument to him. The lesson in this book is share with the ones you love. There is a song in the story that continues with a new verse pertaining to what is happening in each book.
Book number three is Welcome to My Camper! The Magnificent bunch takes a journey to their first gig in the jungle. They are so excited to play their song for Stu's family. They travel though many obstacles to get to their destination. Arriving just in time to play their hit song, "I Say Roar." The moral to the story is to be supportive to others and to enjoy the journey of life. The song in the story continues with a new verse pertaining to what is happening in each book.
