This second volume traces the history, organization, uniforms, and equipment of the Waffen SS between 1939 and 1945. This elite wing of the Nazi party counted nearly one million volunteers from all the countries of Europe. With the full support of the Nazi regime, the Waffen SS fought on all European fronts between 1939 and 1945.
The variety of uniforms presented shows how, from 1941 onwards, the German superintendence reserved its most modern equipment for the "beloved child of the regime".
Items presented include caps, helmets, helmet covers, hooded jackets, camouflage outfits, belt buckles, equipment, and weaponry. All the Waffen SS panels and objects are scrupulously detailed in this two-volume book. Accompanied by many previously unpublished photographs from private archives, this book covers an area that no comprehensive study has made before.
