0Undine Gruenter's literary work is not so well known as it should be because according to the author s opinion she was one of the most excellent female writers in German contemporary literature. Her oeuvre consists of 11 works, novels and short stories, some of them were published posthumously. She was writing for 25 years, especially when she moved from Germany to Paris wherer she lived fairly the half of her life. Paris in a cultural and a literary sense has got a big importance for her life and for her work. She was under the influence of the French Surrealisme, but she created based on that an fully original and independent work which puts emphasis on the "poetry of the language". She died in 2002 in Paris on ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).
