110 years of racing and legends
Aston Martin's rapid success story began almost exactly 110 years ago with its foundation by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. The brand reached its peak in 1947 under David Brown, whose initials can be found in the legendary models for good reason. Closely linked to racing, the company still pursues the goal of creating road-going racing cars. Aston Martin's history on the racetrack is at least as exciting as the company's history. It ranges from the legendary victory at the Aston Hill Climb in 1914 to the success at Le Mans in 1959 to the entry into Formula 1 from 2021, associated with names such as Stirling Moss or Sebastian Vettel.
But Aston Martin is not only in the fast lane when it comes to technical high performance; thanks to elegant design and luxurious comfort, the automobiles literally sparkle with British understatement. No wonder, then, that no less a person than James Bond has been relying on Aston Martin for his company car since 1964 in Goldfinger.
René Staud: Master of automobile photography and icon maker

Equipped with his own lighting system, he literally puts his automotive models in the right light and is a master of staging. Like Aston Martin, René Staud is also responsible for some real classics. Among others, teNeues published the bestsellers The Porsche 911 Book, The Jaguar Book - and of course the original edition of The Aston Martin Book.
