Between Death & Flight is an epistolary creative nonfiction book that follows a transmasculine, Latino teenager's stay in a US ICE detention center for undocumented children, after an escape from his home country due to transphobic violence- right during the height of the 2016 US presidential campaign. Told primarily through journal-style entries, the story explores the author's confinement, stripping of freedom, and existence as an inherently transgressive self.
