Shea is searching for answers; the most important one being finding a reason to live again. Then, he grabs a case; someone is killing seemingly unrelated people in the most horrific ways imaginable, and Thomas needs to find him before he kills more. His search for the killer, and the inner peace he seeks, lead him to the killer's door and the last woman on his kill list. She helps to bring love back into his life while the killer tries to save his soul from the abyss. Thomas thinks both are trying to help him, but what Thomas doesn't know, is the killer needs to help someone in order for him to receive the redemption he imagines he'll get after he's done, and Thomas seems like the perfectly tortured soul the killer needs to reach his goal.
