Little Meg feels all alone; she lives in an orphanage with children who are often cruel. Meg finds a friend in a scarecrow situated on a hill nearby. The other orphans are spooked by the scarecrow and uneasy with Meg's relationship with him. They design a plot to frighten little Meg and end the strange friendship.
This beautifully crafted, spooky, illustrated storybook "strikes a nice balance between being eerie and a bit scary without
going over-the-top or creating a feeling too sinister for children." - Dakota Reed, Editor
